An 87-year-old man went viral after going door to door inviting neighbors to a party at his house: “From 4:00 PM until the police arrive!”
Doug Turner, an 87-year-old man from Pennsylvania, USA, went viral after being caught by a security camera delivering invitations to his neighbors to come to a party at his house.
Michelle Hernandez, one of the neighbors, explained to the Washington Post that she had been living in the area for five months and had only seen Turner a few times until the day he rang her doorbell.
In a viral post on TikTok, Hernandez shared the video of her interaction with Turner, recorded by her doorbell camera. In the footage, we see the elderly man approaching with his cane, struggling to climb the steps of Hernandez’s house.
He then rings the doorbell and takes an invitation out of his pocket; when Hernandez opens the door, Turner introduces himself as one of her neighbors and explains that he’s there to invite her to a party at his house.
Hernandez said she thanked him and went back inside, where she read the handwritten invitation with a snowflake drawing that said: “A Winter Celebration… 4 PM until the police arrive.”
The post touched and amused internet users, and it even made it to the news. After all, who wouldn’t want a neighbor like Doug?
