Based in São José dos Campos, the group operates in high-complexity engineering and takes part in projects such as the Gripen, KC-390, and space systems, increasing the weight of Brazil’s domestic industry in the sector.

Akaer is a Brazilian engineering and technology company founded in 1992, specializing in solutions for the aerospace, defense, energy, and automotive sectors. The group is headquartered in São José dos Campos, São Paulo, and brings together more than 350 qualified professionals, according to the company’s own institutional information.

In recent years, the company has gained greater visibility through its participation in programs considered strategic for Brazil, such as the Gripen fighter jet, the KC-390 transport aircraft, and the development of cameras for satellites. This positioning has placed Akaer among the most relevant names in Brazil’s domestic high-technology chain focused on defense and the aerospace sector.

In the Gripen program, the company highlights its role in developing the fighter’s rear fuselage for the Brazilian Air Force, including structural redesign and validation in load tests. The company says this work required solutions for new engine, avionics, durability, and structural resistance demands in a supersonic platform.

In addition to projects linked to Brazil, Akaer has also been expanding its international presence. The company said it was selected as a technology partner in relevant aeronautical projects in Türkiye, a move that reinforces its strategy of internationalization and expansion in defense markets.

The group’s structure also goes beyond traditional aeronautical engineering. According to the company, its ecosystem includes operations such as OPTO Space & Defense, focused on optronic products for the aerospace and defense markets, and Equatorial Sistemas, dedicated to the development and integration of high-technology systems for space applications.

With this profile, Akaer has established itself as one of the Brazilian companies helping transform military and aerospace programs into local industrial capability, combining engineering, industrialization, and systems development in highly complex projects.
