Social media consultant Matt Navarra highlighted the news on his Threads profile, and according to information from TechCrunch, TikTok has confirmed the update but emphasized, without providing many details, that the tests are taking place in selected regions with a limited group of users.
The extension of video duration is a significant change for TikTok, which has been known for its focus on short and fun videos. However, in recent times, the platform has been moving towards longer-form content, and this new feature puts it in more competition with YouTube, attracting creators of longer videos.
