Named Ariel due to her partially fused hind legs resembling a mermaid’s tail, the puppy was discovered outside a branch of B&M in September. She is suspected to have been abandoned by a puppy farm due to her congenital defects.
Ariel’s story touched the hearts of dog lovers throughout the UK, who united to raise about £15,000 to fund her surgery. Surgeon Aaron Lutchman was responsible for the procedure, which resulted in the successful removal of the extra limbs and the preservation of the puppy’s four functional legs. The process went as expected, and Ariel now faces a few weeks of recovery.
Currently, Ariel is resting, and she needs to remain at rest for the next 10-14 days for complete recovery. The story of little Ariel’s overcoming has been widely shared on social media, with many users expressing their support and love for the brave puppy.
