Preston Ordone, better known as “Okay Baby” on TikTok, passed away last Thursday (24th) after his family was involved in a car accident.

Preston was only 2 years old but had already become a social media celebrity thanks to his fun and mischievous personality.

The toddler became the star of his mother’s TikTok account, Katelynn, which boasts over 400,000 followers. However, Preston tragically lost his life in the fatal accident.

According to the police, the family’s 2011 Ford F-150 veered off Interstate 12 for an “unknown” reason and struck a tree.

The crash left Kate and her husband, Jaelan, seriously injured, while Preston died at the hospital after being rushed for treatment. The couple also has another daughter, Paisley, who was at school at the time of the accident.

In a Facebook post, the Louisiana State Police stated that Preston was seated in the back but was “improperly restrained in a child safety seat.”

“Louisiana State Police emphasizes that proper use of restraint devices significantly reduces the risk of serious injury or death in a crash,” the post read.

“Louisiana law requires all occupants, regardless of seating position, to be properly restrained at all times. Proper use of seat belts and child seats can mean the difference between life and death.”

However, Preston’s grandfather, Glen Norris, disputed the police’s claim that the child was improperly restrained, according to a report by NOLA.com.

Glen stated that he had spoken to witnesses of the accident and the individual who removed Preston from the family’s car. They confirmed he was correctly secured in the car seat. As a result, Glen called the police’s comments “hurtful.”

@kate_ordone This is the hardest post we could possibly make, finding words is still so hard.. We hope that you can help our family in any way possible in this hard time. It still feels so unreal… All your prayers, love and support is needed and appreciated. Thank you. #OkayBabyForever ♬ original sound – Katelynn Ordone
