Influencer Earns Almost Half a Million Dollars for Just One Sponsored Story
Digital influencer Alix Earle earns an impressive $450,000 for every sponsored story she posts on Instagram.
The revelation was made by Vickie Segar, co-founder of Article 41 — who has collaborated with Earle on past campaigns — during a conversation with athletes from the University of North Carolina, as reported by the New York Times last Sunday.
“Let’s talk about money in the creative economy. Does anyone follow Alix Earle?” Segar asked the students before asking them to estimate how much she earns for a single story on Instagram.
While some guesses ranged from $70,000 to $100,000, Segar surprised the crowd by revealing a much higher number.
“$450,000 per Instagram story,” she said, leaving the audience stunned.
It’s still unknown how much Earle makes for permanent posts on her feed, but it’s likely that the amounts exceed those earned from Stories, which disappear after 24 hours.
At 24 years old, Earle has over 4 million followers on Instagram and more than 7 million on TikTok.
She gained fame by sharing “Get Ready With Me” videos on TikTok during her time as a student at the University of Miami.
Her visibility increased significantly in the summer of 2022 when she addressed her acne experience in videos that resonated strongly with her audience and boosted her growth on social media.
With such influence, it’s common for products promoted by her to sell out quickly — the so-called “Alix Earle effect.” So it’s no surprise that she can command six-figure sums even for ephemeral content.
Since then, her career has expanded beyond social media. In 2023, she launched the *Hot Mess* podcast, which was discontinued by Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network in February amid rumors of disagreements.
Alix also appeared in The Kid Laroi’s “Girls” music video in June 2024 and starred in three ads aired during the Super Bowl this year.
