Phoebe Gates, Bill Gates’ daughter, recently revealed that the Microsoft co-founder has Asperger’s syndrome.
The 22-year-old made the revelation in Wednesday’s (30) episode of the podcast Call Her Daddy, hosted by Alex Cooper.
The topic came up while they were talking about what it’s like for her to bring her boyfriends home. “For the guy, it’s scary. For me, it’s hilarious,” she said.
“Because my dad is pretty socially awkward. He has Asperger’s syndrome. So for me, it’s really funny,” Phoebe explained.

Gates, 69, has never publicly stated that he has Asperger’s syndrome, although he has revealed that he likely has an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
“If I were growing up today, I would probably be diagnosed on the autism spectrum,” Bill wrote in Source Code, his most recent memoir.
“During my childhood, the fact that some people’s brains process information differently from others’ wasn’t widely understood.”
He also explained that the term “neurodivergent” didn’t appear until the 1990s, and that formal tests for autism spectrum disorders weren’t introduced until the 1980s, when he was already an adult.
Phoebe is the daughter of Bill and his ex-wife Melinda, whom he was married to from 1994 to 2021. They also have Jennifer, 29, and Rory, 25.
