Robocop, the famous 1987 futuristic film, seems to have become reality after the Royal Thai Police unveiled its new police robot.
The AI Police Cyborg 1.0, a humanoid robot that will serve in Thailand’s police force, was introduced last month during the Thai New Year festival, Songkran.
Equipped with advanced artificial intelligence, the robot features cameras spread across its body for facial recognition. This allows it to identify potential suspects in crowds and alert police officers.
It can also track criminals by searching for suspects based on physical description, clothing, body shape, and gender.
The humanoid robot is also capable of detecting weapons; performing “video analysis” by sending real-time information to the command center; and activating surveillance drones and security cameras.
