Unitree Robotics, a Chinese technology company, has revealed a new version of its B2 robot dog, specialized in fighting fires.

The quadruped robot can be equipped with LiDAR sensors and cameras that stream live video to locate and identify fire hotspots. Then, using its robotic arms and powerful water cannon, it works alongside firefighters to extinguish the flames.

The B2 is resistant to water and dust, making it ideal for extreme conditions. It is also equipped with sprinklers to cool off during operations, and its hot-swap battery allows it to operate for extended periods without compromising its seals.

Additionally, its hose can be detached, allowing it to perform other tasks. The robot also features other additional modules, such as an air blower specialized in fighting forest fires, ensuring better safety by containing the flames.

Two units have recently been integrated into teams conducting rescues and fighting fires in Qingdao, China. However, their prices for commercial use have not yet been disclosed.
