The fun filter quickly took over TikTok, with many users testing the technology and posting videos to share the interesting (and slightly creepy) results.
In the clips, you can see how the AI boyfriend fits perfectly into the women’s photos. However, as TikToker Jessica showed, the technology is still far from perfect.
When she shared the filter test results where her “boyfriend” appears next to her, users noticed he had six fingers on one hand and that Jessica’s arm had completely disappeared from the image.
“But he takes your arm as payment,” joked one TikTok user. “He stole your hand!” warned another. “This filter makes me not want a boyfriend,” admitted a third.
Something similar happened when TikToker Yolanda tried the filter, as her AI boyfriend also had more than five fingers. Also, the AI didn’t bother to give him a pair of shoes — he appears barefoot in the photo.
Users quickly pointed out the filter’s glitches in the comment section. “Why is he barefoot?” one asked. “We’re really not safe, not even from AI cheaters. I’ve seen this same man in TikToks from two other girls,” joked another.
