While delivering a speech with a guest during his online service, Pastor Sérgio Carvinho fell ill on the night of Saturday, May 31, during a live broadcast in a church in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina.
The victim was taken to the hospital but did not survive. The pastor of the Pentecostal Church Deus é Amor knelt behind the pulpit to talk about an experience of his own father when he gradually began to lose the ability to speak.
According to the video, he had spoken for at least 16 minutes before passing away.

The woman who recorded the broadcast, a nursing student, said she helped perform first aid along with a colleague.
“We did our part trying to save his life,” she recounted. “He was preaching normally, apparently, we don’t know if he had any heart problems or not,” said the young woman who wished to remain anonymous.
The Pentecostal Church Deus é Amor mourned the victim’s passing.
“Pastor Sérgio Carvinho was an instrument of God on this earth, bringing comfort, hope, and love through the Word and praise,” reads one of the statements.
