The sertanejo singer Léo was performing with his duo partner, singer Raphael, during a rodeo event in the city of Pontal, in the interior of São Paulo, in the early hours of last Sunday (8) when the incident occurred.
In a video posted by the singer himself on social media, you can see the moment he approaches a machine installed on stage right before it releases flames directly at his face.
He received help from his team and later showed burns on the left side of his face, his nose, and his ear. According to his team, he received medical attention and is doing well.
After the scare, he appeared on Instagram to reassure fans, revealing that the machines had been recently replaced because, according to him, they hadn’t been working properly.
“I was even joking with the team saying the machines weren’t working. They replaced them with new machines, and they still weren’t working, and then suddenly they did. At the moment I least expected it, they worked,” Léo said on social media.
Even with part of his face burned, Léo continued the performance as normal. “That happened about 30 minutes into the show, and we played for another hour and 45 minutes,” the artist added.
