Highly anticipated by technology enthusiasts, Apple’s first foldable iPhone is expected to launch next year.
Industry analyst and reliable Apple leak source Ming-Chi Kuo states that the innovative device is set to arrive in 2026, using a display from a major rival.
Foxconn will handle assembly and is expected to start the project in the third quarter or late fourth quarter of this year, according to Kuo. The display will be manufactured by Samsung Display (SDC).
Leaks indicate that Apple has ordered between 15 and 20 million foldable iPhones, which Kuo says suggests the tech giant is betting on a longer-than-normal product lifespan.
However, Kuo explains this is mainly due to the phone’s high price, although estimated prices have not yet been disclosed. It is important to remember the device is still in development.
