A Reddit user left internet users completely stunned after showing the shocking difference in their electricity bill after installing solar panels at home.
The internet user, who lives in San Francisco, California (USA), showed that between May and June 2022, their electricity bill was only $11.
According to the screenshot, in the same period of 2021, their electricity bill was an impressive $337, a difference of $326 after installing the solar panels.

The owner also detailed that they have two electric cars and a two-story house of 230 square meters, where the air conditioning stays constantly on at about 22ºC.
Additionally, they revealed that the main motivation to get solar energy was not the cost, but the reduction of environmental impact.
However, for those envious of the internet user’s electricity bill, they highlighted that the price of installing the panels is quite steep.
According to them, installing the two panels cost $47,000, but they received $12,000 back as a federal tax rebate. With that in mind, the initial investment was $35,000.
Of course, not every month will produce the same savings as that specific period, but if you calculate an estimated saving of $326 every month, it would take 107 months or just under 9 years for the investment to start paying off.
