The Prime Air delivery option was first introduced in 2022 in just two U.S. cities: Phoenix, Arizona, and College Station, Texas.
However, delivery was limited by the package weight, which could not exceed 2.2 kg, and by weather conditions favorable for drone flights.
Now, the U.S. Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) has granted the company permission to deliver a broader range of products through the service.
In addition to Apple devices, including AirPods and AirTags, Amazon will also be able to deliver phones from Samsung’s Galaxy line, Ring doorbells, and food thermometers from the Instant Read Food line by Alpha Grillers.
If you live in an area where the service is available, simply select Prime Air as the delivery method when shopping on Amazon via the website or app.
Once it receives approval from regulatory agencies, Amazon stated that it plans to expand the service to other regions soon, and also introduce it in other countries such as Italy and the United Kingdom.
