During this same event, the tech giant also unveiled the new smartphones, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. The newly announced Apple Watches feature a new and unique two-finger pinch gesture, serving as a shortcut for certain functions, such as answering and ending calls.

The new Apple Watches also come equipped with a brighter display compared to previous generations, reaching 2,000 nits on the Apple Watch Series 9 and 3,000 nits on the Apple Watch Ultra 2. However, Apple promises excellent battery life and fast charging.

Both smartwatches also feature Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant, which will assist with various commands and shortcuts. They will come preloaded with the new watchOS 10, the Apple Watch operating system.

As for the processor, the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 are equipped with the S9 SiP (“System in Package”) chip, with Apple claiming that the new models are 30% faster than the previous generation.

Similar to the new iPhones, Apple has also focused on low carbon emissions and recyclable materials in the new Apple Watches. Like the S9, the new Ultra model is also produced with low carbon emissions. Additionally, the Apple Watch Series 9 will be available in the colors pink, gray, midnight, red, and light gray, as well as in gold, graphite, and silver stainless steel.
