Figure, an American robotics and artificial intelligence company, introduced its new humanoid robot model that can assist with household tasks.

Helix utilizes a machine learning model based on Vision-Language-Action (VLA) concepts, meaning it has the ability to perceive and understand language to overcome challenges.

Helix is fully capable of controlling the upper body, including wrists, fingers, torso, and head, making it the first humanoid robot with such abilities.

Additionally, multiple robots can share tasks through the system, which can be applied to two Helix models simultaneously.

“For robots to be useful at home, they will need to generate new intelligent behaviors on demand, especially for objects they have never seen before,” explained Figure.

“Teaching a single behavior requires hours of manual programming by Ph.D.-level experts or thousands of projections,” the company added.
