Canadian diver Molly Carlson suffered minor injuries after experiencing what she called the “scariest moment of her life.” She slipped off a 22-meter-high platform on a cliff in Italy.

The viral video was recorded on Saturday, June 28, during an event in Polignano a Mare. “Always measure your run-up correctly,” the diver wrote on her Instagram profile.

She was training for the World Series when she slipped from the edge of a diving platform.

Molly sustained minor injuries after her unintended fall. The footage shows her trying to regain her posture during the fall, landing on her feet to avoid further damage. She was forced to withdraw from the competition.

“It breaks my heart to announce that I won’t be competing in the second leg of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series here in Italy after suffering a scary accident. One of my nightmares became a reality,” the diver wrote.

“I’m shocked at my reflexes in getting up like a cat and being okay. Unfortunately, on takeoff, I got a huge bruise on my foot. I thought about pushing through and diving, but it wasn’t the right choice for my health,” she reflected.

Molly Carlson won the gold medal at the World Cup of Aquatic Diving in Bahrain, competing in the waters of the Persian Gulf.
