A wave of alleged “doctors” giving completely absurd health advice has recently taken over TikTok. It turns out these “doctors” are just AI-created people.
The issue came to light after a supposed “gynecologist” went viral on social media with some bizarre advice. In one instance, she claimed lemon balm is a great substitute for Ozempic, a diabetes drug often associated with weight loss.
After this, TikTok user Javon Ford Beauty drew attention to the collection of clips. In one video, which has already accumulated over 2 million views, he exposes the AI app these creators are using to deceive unsuspecting internet users.
He claimed that this “scary doctor” originated from an app called Captions, which allows users to choose AI avatars to create videos on any topic.
While browsing the app, he came across Violet, the same woman posing as a doctor in many of the videos. He then typed a script, and to his surprise, the AI delivered a convincing speech on the topic.
The case left thousands of internet users completely shocked. “This should be illegal,” admitted one TikTok user. “I couldn’t even tell it was AI,” said another. “I’ve seen Violet so many times,” commented a third user.
