According to the billionaire, users will no longer be required to provide a phone number to use the new features, which will be available for iOS and Mac devices (from Apple), Android (from Google), and other types of personal computers. However, Elon Musk did not specify a launch date for this innovation.
“Video and audio calls coming to X: works on iOS, Android, Mac & PC; No phone number needed; X is the effective global address book. That set of factors is unique,” wrote Musk.
Since the social media network was acquired by Elon Musk in October 2022, Twitter, now called X, has undergone numerous changes, including its name and logo.
Musk’s goal is to transform ‘X’ into a ‘super app,’ going beyond the entertainment of a social network and offering other comprehensive services, such as financial transactions.
