Pat Gelsinger, who served as CEO of Intel until the end of last year, has become the chairman of the board and head of the technology sector at Gloo, a technology company for churches.

Gelsinger, who had been involved with Gloo since 2018, celebrated the news on his LinkedIn profile. “Gloo’s focus on creating a technology platform that connects and catalyzes the faith ecosystem aligns perfectly with my own sense of purpose,” he said.

“Now, more than ever, there is a huge need for faith-based communities to play an active role in ensuring that we shape technology as a force for good,” Gelsinger explained.

Gloo already has more than 100,000 users and is the largest in the world in the religious sector. Its latest innovation is its own artificial intelligence system, Gloo AI, which functions as a chatbot advisor so that users can discuss religious issues.
