A non-profit conservation organization in Chile has shared extremely rare footage of a Colocolo, a wild cat native to South America.

The footage shared by the Colocolo Project marks the second sighting of the feline by the group this year. According to the project, the wild cat is the third-largest in Chile, behind the puma and the Andean mountain cat.

This high-altitude resident is particularly unique among wild felines, as it has six different coat patterns. This often leads to confusion with the Andean mountain cat.

Although it’s one of the region’s main wild felines, little is known about it. Fortunately, footage like that captured above by the project can offer fascinating glimpses into this mysterious species.

“It’s just a kitty wearing long, colorful socks,” joked one Instagram user. “Incredible and beautiful creature. I’ve never seen such beauty,” admitted another. “I don’t have one in that color at home,” joked a third.
