Tanner Martin, a 30-year-old influencer from Utah, recorded a video announcing his own death weeks after his first daughter was born.
Martin’s wife, Shay Wright, shared the video on the couple’s joint Instagram account. The influencer died on June 25 after battling colorectal cancer.
Tanner Martin was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2020 but managed to fight the disease to see the birth of his daughter AmyLou, born on May 15.
The influencer shared his cancer journey over five years with more than 454,000 followers. His last video, recorded in a light and humorous tone, has accumulated over 3.8 million views.
“Hi, it’s me, Tanner. If you’re watching this, it’s because I’m dead,” the influencer begins, who thought of recording the video after seeing someone else do it.

“And also to think about what your partner or spouse might need. And she probably needs some time to grieve,” he added.
In another video, Tanner appears next to his daughter, only one month old, to say goodbye. “Dear, I was so excited to meet you. I love you so much… I waited for this for so long,” he whispered.
The influencer asked people to support his wife and daughter through a GoFundMe campaign. Over $450,000 has been raised.
