Alexia Ferreira’s video has over one million views on social media

Brazilian influencer Alexia Ferreira, 32, unknowingly recorded the moment she was robbed at Lollapalooza during the performance of Canadian singer Alanis Morissette, which took place last Saturday, March 29th.

Alexia traveled to São Paulo just to attend the festival. In the video, she is seen singing and jumping, while a man subtly approaches her and steals her phone. The video, posted on her TikTok profile, went viral and has already received over a million views.

“I had two phones. One of them I was using to record the video, and the other was hanging in front of me with a case and a string. As soon as I finished recording the video, I went to grab my other phone and noticed it wasn’t in the case anymore,” she explained in an interview with g1.

The influencer carries two phones because of her work as a content creator. “One phone was my personal phone. The older one, which was stolen. And the other I only used as a camera to record content,” she explained.

After realizing she had been robbed, Alexia asked people around her if anyone had seen anything, but according to her, everyone said they hadn’t seen anything.

In the interview with the outlet, she explained what she did to block her phone. “The phone I still had didn’t have a SIM card, so I didn’t have internet on it. I asked the girl behind me to try to hotspot her internet to me, but she couldn’t. I stopped at the first booth I saw and asked a person working at the booth for help, and they helped me by hotspotting the internet. I went into the iPhone’s Find function and reported my phone as lost right away.”

Alexia left the event and went to her friend’s house, where she was staying, and filed a police report online.

In a statement to g1, the festival’s organizers said, “Lollapalooza had a highly trained and experienced security team, working alongside the appropriate authorities to ensure a safe environment for all participants, including a Mobile Police Station.”

“In theft cases, it is recommended to report the incident to the on-site security so that legal measures can be reviewed and, if necessary, contact the present authorities. In total, the company contracted for the festival’s security had over 1,000 employees trained to act at large events, in addition to cameras that monitor the entire Interlagos racetrack in real-time at a Command Center. It’s important to note that during the event days, people were detained on-site and taken to the Civil Police,” said the annual event’s production.

Alexia said she did not approach anyone from the festival’s organization because she wanted to resolve the phone’s block as quickly as possible. “I didn’t speak to anyone from the festival because my priority was to go back to where I was staying and do the necessary blocks to prevent anyone from accessing my apps.”
