Internet users were stunned after discovering a supposed “hidden meaning” in the bitten apple that became the iconic Apple logo.
While you might look at it and think it’s just that, a bitten apple, a TikTok user shared a video drawing attention to a detail that most people had overlooked in the logo of the tech giant.
In the clip, they pointed out the missing piece of the apple, as if a bite had been taken out of it. In technical terms, however, “bite” could be written as “byte,” as in a unit of data.
The information quickly began circulating on the web. “Did you know the Apple logo was actually a clever pun with the words ‘bite’ and ‘byte’ (adding a nerdy touch to the fruit)?” wrote a user on X (formerly Twitter).
However, in an interview, Rob Janoff, the designer of the Apple logo, denied that it was his idea but admitted that it’s a good theory.
