Showing a true entrepreneurial spirit, some internet users took advantage of the TikTok ban in the U.S. by putting their phones with the app installed up for sale.
According to a report from USA Today, several iPhones have been listed for sale on eBay for thousands of dollars. In the description, the sellers highlighted as an interesting feature that the phone has “TikTok installed.”
This happens because, despite the ban being extremely short and lasting only a few hours last Sunday (19), the app remains unavailable for download on the App Store and Google Play Store in the U.S.
With this in mind, some savvy individuals decided to take advantage of the situation to make some extra cash, like an eBay user in Ruskin, Florida, who listed an iPhone 15 Pro Max “with TikTok” for $10,000.
Other eBay users listed iPhones with TikTok installed for prices ranging from $500 to $25,000. The most expensive listing comes from a seller in Whittier, North Carolina, who put an iPhone 16 Pro Max with “TikTok installed” up for sale for $25,000.
It’s unclear if these devices have actually been sold, but it would be wise for the sellers to close a deal soon, as President Donald Trump seems to be working to normalize the app’s situation in the country.
