Italian model Bianca Balti dazzled the audience at the Sanremo festival, looking radiant despite her battle with cancer.

By removing her wig and showing her scars, Balti received much praise on social media for her courage, beauty, and inspiration.

The 40-year-old Balti was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year and presented the festival just a few weeks after undergoing chemotherapy. At the press conference before the festival, she spoke about her presence, joy, and work.

“I am not here to be a cancer patient. I don’t want to talk about pain. I could be in bed complaining to myself, but instead, I want to be the tribute of my life tonight.”

For her presentation at Sanremo, Balti wore four bold but symbolic dresses. One of them was a Roberto Cavalli dress with a cutout that revealed her surgery scars. For Balti, it was a statement of self-acceptance and a great source of inspiration for other cancer patients.

On her Instagram, Bianca Balti shared many photos and videos of her preparation for the festival. In one of her posts, Balti sums up her journey.

“I was born with wings. However, I learned to fly through big falls and resilience that has never allowed me to give up.”
