Charles Smith, a TikToker from the United States, was arrested after recording a video in which he appears spraying insect poison on fruits and vegetables in a supermarket.
The video was filmed at a Walmart in Arizona on December 19. In the clip, Smith is seen approaching several bananas with a can of poison, before spraying the contents of the can on various items in the fruit and vegetable section.
The 27-year-old is said to have filmed himself performing the act and shared the footage in a now-deleted post with his more than 300,000 followers on TikTok. According to a report by The Post, he had also done this with roasted chicken at the store.
Authorities contacted the content creator, and on December 21, Smith turned himself in to the police. According to documents obtained by ABC7, Smith told investigators that he films “pranks” for his social media and earns between $6,000 and $10,000 per month from his content.
