The clip begins with showing a young fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the stands at the game against the Tampa Bay Lightning that took place last Sunday (January 12) at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In the video, you can see the man stealing the puck from the boy’s hands before getting into an argument with his mother. It’s clear that the young fan’s mother almost slapped the man, but she stopped before things got worse.
Kevin Acklin, president of business operations for the Pittsburgh Penguins, explained to the KDKA TV channel in Pittsburgh that “a puck went up into the net, and a boy about 3 or 4 rows back went and shook the glass.”
When the puck fell to the ground, the older fan, who was wearing a replica Lowell MacDonald jersey, grabbed the puck before the young fan could. Acklin added to KDKA Radio that the older fan basically “snatched the puck from the boy’s hands.”
