Monster Hunter Wilds, released by Capcom in late February, has already surpassed 10 million copies sold and is preparing to launch its first free update.
The game, which had been anticipated since its announcement at the The Game Awards in 2023, had already reached 8 million copies sold within the first three days of its release.
This record is so impressive that, for comparison, Monster Hunter Rise reached these numbers after one year. On the other hand, Monster Hunter World took nearly five years to achieve the same feat.
Now, Capcom is preparing to launch its first free update, which will bring some interesting new features and will be available to players starting this Thursday (3).

The new content includes the new monster Mizutsune, which will be available from Rank 21, and Rey Dau, the first Arch-Tempered monster, which can be obtained at Rank 50 through an event quest.
Capcom also announced a new themed event, Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, which will arrive in the game on April 22 and will be available until May 6. During the event, new quests and unique equipment will be available for players.
As if that wasn’t enough, the company also announced the return of an iconic character. In a collaboration launching at the end of May, Lagiacrus, the creature that hasn’t appeared in the game since 2017, will return to Monster Hunter Wilds, according to Ryozo Tsujimoto, the franchise’s producer.
