To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Solar Dynamic Observatory spacecraft, the American space agency (NASA), has released a time-lapse video that displays, in one hour, ten years of solar activity.

For the production of the video, 425 million high-resolution images were used, totaling 20 million GB of data collected over the last decade.

Throughout the video, there appear white frames and a blackout, which correspond to periods when the Earth and the Moon obstructed the view of the Sun, in addition to a period in 2016 when a technical issue disrupted the image capture over the course of a week.
