NASA’s LRO Captures Indian Lunar Probe ‘Chandrayaan-3’ Landing

The NASA spacecraft, the ‘Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO),’ managed to capture an image of the landing of the Indian lunar probe Chandrayaan-3, from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), near the lunar south pole.

The Indian lunar probe landed on Earth’s only satellite on August 23rd of this year. The NASA lunar probe, launched in 2009, has been orbiting the Moon, contributing to significant discoveries over more than 10 years of study.

Following the Chandrayaan-3 landing, NASA’s spacecraft directed its camera to the site and managed to capture clear evidence of the interactions between the rocket plume and the lunar surface.
