New trend on TikTok tests children’s reactions and entertains parents

TikTok Repost

A new trend on TikTok, the cookie challenge, has become popular on social media by testing in a fun way how children react to an unexpected situation.

The idea is to have parents and children sit together at a table, with an upside-down plate in front of each of them. When the plate is turned over, the child finds two cookies, one of the parents gets one, and the other gets none.

The parent who has no cookies pretends to make a big deal out of it and shows they have nothing, to see if the child will offer the extra cookie on their plate so that everyone can have one.

Internet users are loving the “cookie challenge,” because it shows the most diverse reactions from children. Some immediately offer the treat, others completely ignore the situation, some find it funny that someone is left with nothing, and there are those who keep both cookies and even take the one from the parent who has one to give to the other, showing a clear preference.

In one of the viral clips on TikTok, content creator Austin Geter (@austingeter) does the challenge with his daughter Claire and wife Ariella. In this case, the father is left without the cookie, and the daughter celebrates having two, casually stating: “Daddy doesn’t have any.”

Since its publication, the video has received over 39 million views and thousands of comments.

Another successful clip features TikToker @bigbsham, who did the challenge with his partner and little daughter. This time, the mother was left with no cookies, but the little girl immediately offered her second cookie and said: “Don’t worry, mom, I can share with you.”

The video has already gained over a million views and many comments from people praising the little girl’s reaction. “She doesn’t mess around with her mom,” said one viewer.

“Finally, I’m on the seventh video, and she’s the first child to automatically give away a cookie, so sweet!” wrote another.
