OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT, has increased the reward for those who find bugs and security flaws in its products to up to $100,000.

The announcement was made last Wednesday (26) and applies to both ChatGPT and its other products, Whisper, its audio-to-text feature, and Sora, its video-generation tool.

The $100,000 reward is a fivefold increase from the amount previously set in 2023, which was $200 for less relevant discoveries and $20,000 for extraordinary ones.

“This increase reflects our commitment to rewarding meaningful and high-impact security research that helps us protect users and maintain trust in our systems,” the company noted in the announcement.

To further encourage participation, OpenAI will offer a limited-time bonus for those who provide “quality reports” to the company. This promotion will be available from March 26 to April 30, 2025. Learn more in the OpenAI blog post.
