Rabbit had already announced the sell-out of its first batch of the R1, with 10,000 units sold in just one day, surpassing the startup’s initial expectations. The company then announced a second batch, also consisting of 10,000 units, which sold out just as quickly.
The success of the Rabbit R1, priced at $199, prompted the company to open pre-orders for a third batch, with an estimated delivery between May and June 2024.
What is Rabbit’s R1?
The R1, unveiled during CES 2024, one of the world’s largest and most influential electronics expos, serves as a pocket AI assistant that operates independently of a smartphone or computer.
The device features a 2.88-inch touchscreen, runs on Rabbit’s proprietary operating system, Rabbit OS, offers two microphones, a speaker, and a rotating camera. The R1 enables users to perform complex tasks, such as booking tickets and making online purchases, all through a single intuitive interface, without the need for a smartphone.
