Russian soldiers created a 2-kilometer long “tunnel” of nets to protect their equipment from drones near Chasiv Yar.
The video, posted by military and radio technology expert Sergei Flesh, shows the commander of the Russian engineer battalion discussing the more than 2 kilometers of anti-drone nets that his team is working on.
“We are constantly improving the technology. The nets are installed in the most open sections of the roads to protect the movement of our equipment,” he said in the clip.
“We are constantly trying to expand the coverage area. We are improving the installation technology to do it faster,” he added.

The video captures the tunnel as being made of plastic and fabric mesh stretched over wooden posts along the dirt road, a very cheap alternative to countering drone attacks.
According to the plan, the drone attacking the vehicles on this section of the road should not notice the grid and get confused by it due to the low quality of the analog video.
However, even if the drone operator detects the grid, they still won’t be able to get close enough to hit the target. The grid provides protection against all types of kamikaze drones, including fiber optic drones.
