During the Samsung Unpacked, the brand’s annual announcement event held last Wednesday (22), the Korean manufacturer unveiled its new Galaxy smartphone lineup.

Among them, Samsung introduced the highly anticipated Galaxy S25 Ultra, which, among other things, promises to feature an ultra-resistant display that can withstand drops of up to 2 meters.

The Gorilla Armor 2 display, developed by Corning in partnership with Samsung, is expected to be an even more advanced version than the one announced last year and was one of the highlights of the brand’s flagship smartphone announcement.

Regarding durability, the display was tested in a lab and survived a 2.2-meter drop onto a material simulating concrete. According to Samsung, similar displays failed at drops as low as 1 meter.

The display also features anti-reflection properties, both indoors and outdoors, and is resistant to scratches and rough surfaces. According to Samsung, it was designed to “face the unpredictable nature of everyday life.”
