The potential new feature was discovered through the app’s code by Chris Messina, who shared the information on his official Threads profile.
According to the entrepreneur and creator of the hashtag, screenshots with the Spotify app’s source code reference “AI playlists” and “playlists based on your suggestions.” Messina theorized that these playlists may be related to the ‘Blend’ feature, where the preferences of different users are combined.
For TechCrunch, Spotify denied speculations about the new feature, despite the company always ‘trying to improve product offerings and enhance user value.’
It’s worth noting that audio streaming is also heavily investing in AI, with teams dedicated to these new technologies.
