Springfield Armory Launches Limited Edition M1A Rifle Celebrating the Iconic Model’s 50th Anniversary

Springfield Armory has announced the launch of a special limited edition of the M1A rifle, celebrating 50 years of this renowned semi-automatic model inspired by the legendary M14 chambered in .308 Win.

Honoring its 1974 debut, this commemorative edition will be produced in a limited run of only 1,974 units.

Each M1A 50th Anniversary rifle comes with a handcrafted display case made of eastern white pine, an OD Green cotton canvas sling, a cleaning kit, and the M14 Army technical manual TM-9-1005-223-12. The rifle is packed in a padded black zippered case for extra protection.

Additionally, each rifle includes a certificate of authenticity personally signed by Springfield Armory CEO Dennis Reese, along with a unique serial number, confirming its exclusive status as a collectible item.


The rifle features a flash suppressor with an integrated bayonet mount, reinforcing the classic M14 appearance. Its action is precisely fitted into a high-quality walnut stock, adorned with a special 50th-anniversary medallion featuring the iconic “Crossed Cannon” symbol. Each rifle’s operating rod is engraved with “1 of 1974,” symbolizing its unique place in history. The suggested retail price in the United States is $2,499.
