The Sentinel can house people beneath the ocean for up to 28 days. The goal is to reach the ocean’s deepest point, enabling “a permanent human presence in the oceans.”
“We designed the Sentinel to be a pleasant place to live and work, helping people perform at their best,” Deep stated in a press release.
The company also explained that they want people to enjoy the incredible ocean views while fostering “unexpected discoveries.”
The Sentinel residence is designed to last approximately 20 years and can be relocated to different locations, relying primarily on renewable energy as its main power source. Each facility will have its own solid waste treatment system, eliminating direct disposal into the ocean.
The price of the residence has not yet been disclosed, but Deep aims to launch the product in 2027.
