In the shocking video of the incident, which went viral on social media, two teenagers are seen committing what they called “urine terror” at one of the most famous hotpot restaurants in China, Haidilao, in Shanghai.
In the clip, Tang and Wu, 17 years old, decide to climb onto a table and casually urinate into one of the hot food pots.
The so-called prank was then followed by a boastful comment where one of them claimed that the restaurant was launching a new “urine stew.”
Quickly, the teenagers were bombarded with criticism. The two boys, who traveled from another province to Shanghai, were reportedly drunk when the incident occurred.
On March 6, the Haidilao restaurant chain stated that it had reported the incident to local authorities. Since then, the police detained Tang and Wu, and the authorities in Shanghai placed them under administrative detention.
