Visitors to the Cedar Point park in Ohio were stuck upside down for about 10 minutes on the Siren’s Curse, considered the tallest, longest, and fastest roller coaster in North America.
The incident happened on Saturday, June 28, during the attraction’s debut at the park.
“The roller coaster’s safety system worked as designed. The ride was restarted, and visitors continued the ride,” said Cedar Point park spokesperson Tony Clark.
A video shows the roller coaster stalling and having trouble continuing to operate. The spokesperson explained that the attraction stopped working because a driver hit an electric pole, causing a power outage.
“The Siren’s Curse was reopened shortly after, and all passengers exited the ride safely,” Clark continued. The ride resumed about 10 minutes after the stoppage.
Visitors did not need to be manually evacuated.
