Threads was launched in early July 2023, but the European Union did not receive the platform due to regulatory issues, largely related to the stringent rules of the Digital Markets Act (DMA), a comprehensive set of laws designed to regulate and control Big Tech, leveling the market.
On its official Threads account, Meta‘s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, spoke about the news. “Today we are opening Threads to more countries in Europe. Welcome, everyone!“
