A TikToker went viral after taking on a challenge where he eats McDonald’s for 100 consecutive days to prove he wouldn’t gain weight.
For the challenge, Zach Zona, a content creator who calls himself a “fast food eater,” took inspiration from Morgan Spurlock, the director of the movie Super Size Me. In the 2004 film, Spurlock took on a challenge where he ate nothing but McDonald’s for 30 days.
The film shows how the then 32-year-old’s physical and mental health deteriorated, while his cholesterol, mood swings, and weight skyrocketed. By the end of the experiment, he had gained more than 11 kg. The director passed away in May of last year due to cancer.
With this in mind, Zona took the challenge to the extreme, sharing that he decided to eat McDonald’s for 100 consecutive days. However, he promised his followers that he would not gain weight.

On his TikTok profile, where he has more than 48,000 followers, he began documenting his journey on November 28 while eating a burger and drinking a large soda. The TikToker still has 57 days left to complete his challenge.
While some followers were concerned about the TikToker’s mental health, others reflected on his weight. “If you eat only this, you won’t gain weight because you won’t consume excess calories, but you won’t get the proper nutrients you need daily with this meal.”
It’s unclear whether Zona is eating McDonald’s at every meal, but the videos show him eating a variety of items from the fast food chain’s menu, such as burgers, nuggets, wraps, and fries, finishing off the meals with large sodas or bottles of water.
On December 18, Zach weighed himself and revealed that he had lost four kilograms since the challenge began, though he admitted on the 26th that he had gained half a kilogram back, which he attributed to “progress in the gym, not McDonald’s.”
