Who hasn’t had to put their phone down for a moment and come back to see 200 messages in a WhatsApp group? But if you don’t have time to read everything, you might miss important information.

With this in mind, WhatsApp is introducing a new “chat summary” feature for app users. The idea of the tool is, as the name suggests, to summarize unread messages in a conversation.

The feature will use Meta AI, Meta’s artificial intelligence tool, to select key information from conversations and generate a quick summary.

This way, you’ll stay up to date on the topic, and the summary can also help you decide if the subject is important enough for you to set aside time to read everything.

The tool was officially announced at the end of April and has already begun rolling out. However, the feature is currently only available in English for users in the United States, and there’s no timeline yet for when it will arrive in other countries.
