After months hospitalized in the Philippines with severe liver problems and pneumonia, the content creator passed away

Digital influencer Vanessa Konopka, 28, passed away on March 7 after battling severe health complications in the Philippines. Known for sharing her adventures around the world with her boyfriend Fernando on the Happiness Crossing channel, Vanessa had been hospitalized since New Year’s Eve, when she collapsed during a party and showed severe symptoms such as widespread swelling.

The diagnosis included a critical liver condition and pneumonia. Over the following months, she fought an intense battle in a hospital in Boracay, unable to eat, walk, or speak. Images shared on social media showed her hospital routine, including moments when she received feeding and tried to communicate with her followers.

Fernando, who accompanied Vanessa daily, set up a GoFundMe campaign to help with medical expenses and facilitate her return to Germany. During this period, the couple shared both struggles and small progress—such as when Vanessa was able to breathe fresh air, eat better, and take her first steps with the help of a walker.

Despite some improvements at the end of January and the hope of returning to Germany, her health deteriorated again. In early March, Fernando sadly announced that Vanessa had passed away.

“She always loved connecting with you, and her affection for the Philippines was immense,” he wrote. “If you are reading this from anywhere, Kushka, thank you for teaching me to love myself and to dream. I will love you forever.”
