Two families in Massachusetts lost their homes completely after a fireworks explosion, according to local authorities.
According to a post from the Oakham Fire Department on Facebook, firefighters from several agencies responded to the fire shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday in Spencer, a small town southwest of Boston.
The firefighters reported that a third house was also damaged during the fire. In addition to icy conditions, the department said the teams faced “fireworks explosions and propane tank leaks” while trying to extinguish the fire.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but two families “lost everything,” according to the post. “The main house was gone by the time we arrived, and we tried to save the other two,” the department wrote in the post.
