A mother entertained the internet by sharing the hilarious message her daughter left on the school’s answering machine, imitating her father’s voice and announcing she would be absent the next day.
We’ve all been kids at one point, and we’ve all woken up one day with absolutely no desire to go to school. Who hasn’t suddenly had a stomach ache or sore throat, or pretended to have an uncontrollable cough just to stay home, right?
But today’s little ones are more resourceful and creative when trying to escape their educational duties, and Lyric’s mom, a kindergarten student, took to social media to share what her little girl had done.
In a TikTok video, Tyonda shared her surprise when dropping her daughter off at school: “I don’t know what I did to deserve a daughter like mine, but let me tell you what happened,” she begins.
“I dropped her off at school, and the reception girls were like, ‘Yeah, we got a message last night,'” which immediately made Tyonda suspicious because she knows her daughter very well.
“I’m never surprised. It’s like the element of surprise with her. So, they play the message. My daughter tried to act like her dad and cancel school. What the heck is going on here? Honey, you’re in kindergarten.”
The mom then plays the 6-year-old girl’s message, using a deep voice as if she were the dad, informing the school that her daughter wouldn’t be coming the next day.
Internet users had fun with the little girl’s cleverness, who, as her mom explained in a later post, had gotten the school’s phone number via Apple Maps on the iPad.
“The thing is… this was rehearsed and planned. She had the number, the voice, and a mission,” commented one person.
“We need to hear dad’s voice before we can say whether it was him or not,” joked another.
