Man wakes up disoriented, assaults staff and patients, and causes a scene of destruction caught on video
An American tourist was deported from Indonesia on Monday after causing a chaotic incident at a clinic in Bali last weekend. Images shared on social media show the man, identified only as “MM,” shirtless and wearing only underwear, destroying medical equipment, shouting, and threatening anyone trying to restrain him.

According to the local newspaper Kompas, MM was brought to the clinic unconscious by a friend around 5 a.m. on Saturday. After regaining consciousness, he went into a rage: throwing furniture to the ground, tearing curtains that separated the beds, and verbally assaulting the nurses, who were visibly shaken.
Witnesses reported that he even assaulted his accompanying friend. At one point, MM shouted, “I’m a …. American! Record this!” — while wielding a curtain rod as if it were a weapon.
The local police were called, arrested the tourist, and conducted toxicology tests, which revealed traces of THC and cocaine, although the substances were consumed days before the incident, according to Jakarta Globe.
The American paid around $2,000 for the damage caused to the clinic before being officially deported.
“We strongly condemn this type of behavior, which endangers the safety of others and disrespects our values,” said Bali Governor Wayan Koster. “We welcome visitors from all over the world, but we expect everyone to respect our laws and culture.”
MM had entered Indonesia on April 2, with a visa valid until May 1. His hometown in the United States has not been disclosed.
