The 3,000 kg FAB-3000M bomb is a Soviet-era air-launched weapon, designed as an unguided 3,000 kg bomb primarily for the destruction of industrial, urban, and port facilities.
This bomb model was used by Soviet bombers, the Tupolev Tu-16 and the Tupolev Tu-22M, during the Afghanistan war in the 1980s.
Designed for the destruction of robust structures, such as bunkers, the unguided 3,000-kilogram projectile is equipped with a 1,400-kilogram explosive charge, having a potential destruction radius of 46 meters and a fragment dispersion radius of up to 260 meters, making the FAB-3000 one of the largest bombs in the Soviet arsenal.
